Ohio Early interventionAugust 4, 2017

Dear Help Me Grow Partners,

We apologize for the short notice but the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) has made a significant change in the way Help Me Grow Intake will be handled in the future. ODH recently chose the Cleveland Sight Center to be the single point of contact for anyone in the state of Ohio referring families to Help Me Grow Early Intervention or Help Me Grow Home Visiting. This new process went into effect 8/1/17 and is a big change for everyone connected with Help Me Grow because, since HMG's inception, families and/or professionals typically made contact with their local county for services.

The local number 440-729-5250 and our Help Me Grow toll-free number 1-866-975-1100 will no longer be accepting referrals but these phones will still be answered so we can provide callers with the correct information about the new referral process.

Going forward when making a referral you have several options:

Call: 1-800-755-4769 or 440-389-3322

Fax: 1-855-418-3322

Visit: and click on "Refer Now"
or and click on "Refer to Help Me Grow"

Both the Early Intervention and Home Visiting programs remain very important to the health and well-being of Geauga families. As a result, we all need to work together to insure no families in need of services fall through the cracks. We hope, that by working collaboratively, this transition to a statewide referral system will be as problem-free as possible.

If you need help, please call one of us and we will provide assistance as we all try to work out any bumps in the transition. If you hear back from a family you've referred who has not been contacted, please let us know ASAP so we can best assist the family. Please also forward this to anyone else you feel might need this information.

Many thanx for your help!

What is Help Me Grow

Help Me Grow is a voluntary program for pregnant women and families with infants and toddlers between the ages of birth and three years old.  The goal of the program is to assure that newborns, infants, and toddlers have the best possible start in life. Help Me Grow provides services that promote children's growth and development and support families during their children's early years.

A Help Me Grow Worker can make visits to your home to provide you with information about community services and resources for Geauga Families.  Your child will also be screened for health and overall development to make sure he/she meets important milestones.  The purpose of Help Me Grow is to help parents help their children reach their fullest potential because the first three years of life are so important to a child's overall educational, social, and emotional development.
